Nanny’s Rocker
opened its doors in upstate New York
in the spring of 2007 after years of formulating a concept
that would combine rustic farmhouse antiques and the varied talents of
local
artists here in the Hudson Valley.
Being a Special Ed.
Teacher for the past 25 years, however,
left too little time to realize this vision. So I stopped teaching for
awhile
and opened up a little shop named for the old chair my grandmother used
to sit
on in the family’s country house in Townshend, Vermont.
In addition to the gifts and antiques you will
find here
several area
artists’ selected works are featured in the studio/
art gallery,
offering a wide variety of styles, subjects and mediums. The
artist most
featured happens to be me, Lynda Tellekamp,
creator of Portraits
in Doll and Pen
and Ink Drawings.
The experience for the
visitor of the shop is meant to be a
treasure hunt of sorts for the visually curious and inspiring, and for
sometimes unexpected glimpses into American History.
Enjoy!
